Regular season: For the first time in the competition’s history, the Liberty A-League will feature a full home and away season. The highest ranked team after the 22 rounds, wins the title of "Premiers". For the first time in the competition’s history, the league will feature a full home and away season.

Knockout stage: The Australian format is a bit different from a 'normal' knockout phase. The top six clubs (expanded from four to six from 2023/24 season) at the conclusion of the regular season progress to the finals series. In the first week of finals fixtures, the third-through-sixth ranked teams play a single-elimination match, with the two winners of those matches joining the first and second ranked teams in two-legged ties played over two weeks. The two winners of those matches meet in the grand final.
