Founded: 1973

  • 1973-2012 as Belgian Women's First Division: The top league until 2011–12, now Belgian Women's First Division is the second highest women's league.

  • 2012-2015 as BeNe League: A joint league for Belgium and the Netherlands

  • 2015-present as Super League

Current champion 2020/21: RSC Anderlecht  (4th title)

Most championships: Standard de Liège (20 titles - incl. 1 as St-Nicolas FC Liège)

Teams: 10

Format: After a regular season with home and away matches of total 18 match round, the top 5 teams and the bottom 5 teams will form two separate playoffs where the teams in each group play each other twice (home / away). Each team will bring half of the points acquired from the regular season, into the playoff. Each round, one team will rest. In total there will be 8 rounds in each playoff group.

Promotion / Relegation: The organizer has decided, in order to allow the teams to solidify themselves, not to relegate teams for three seasons (starting 2020/21). Belgian Women's First Division (second league) champions can be promoted if they obtain license.
