Format First stage: 

In the first phase, the clubs will form one group of the 12  teams and
and they will all play each other in a single round. The top four teams will qualify for the semifinal phase.

Format Final stage:

The semifinals will be determined according to the position in the first stage table: 

1st vs 4th

2nd vs 3d
The teams play each other both home and away. The total winners of the semi-finals will play the final which is also two-legged (home / away) and the total winner of the finals will be crowned Paulista champion.

Format Copa Paulista: 

The clubs classified from 5th to 8th place in the First stage will compete in the Copa Paulista instead and the first stage the four teams will be divided into two "semi-finals" accordingly:

5th vs 8th

6th vs 7th

The teams play each other both home and away. The total winners will play the final which is also two-legged (home / away) and the total winner of the finals will be crowned Copa Paulista champion.
