Play-offs format:

The four best teams after the regular season will play against each other, at home and away, in six matchdays of a Championship round. Points obtained in the regular season are deleted and replaced with a points system where the winner of the regular season start with 6 points, no.2 with 4 points, no. 3 with 2 points and no. 4 without points. All start with goal difference 0-0. The winner of the Championship round is Toppserien champions 2022 .  

The ranked 5-10 teams from the regular season will play a Relegation round against the two best teams from the 1. Divisjon, ín seven matchdays where the home side is decided by draw. Teams ending up as 7th and 8th in the play-offs will be relegated to the 1. divisjon. Team No. 6 plays a qualifier game, at home and away, against the winner of the playoffs in 1.divisjon for a place in the Toppserien next season.
