Teams: 32, divided into two groups North & South, 16 teams in each group

Promotion / Relegation:

The two champions from each of the two groups (North & South) will be promoted to Primera Ibderdrola.

As from 2022-23 season onwards there will be only 12 teams in Reto Iberdrola, the 2nd to 4th placed in each group = six in total will for sure remain. The 6th to 11th placed teams in each group will play a playoffs where the six best teams will remain and the six that lose these qualifiers will be the first six members of the new Third division to where also the 12th to 14th placed in each group will end up, while the last two (15th and 16th) descend directly to the 'Primera Nacional'.​
